Swentibold is one of our CHPs (combined heat and power plant). It has been in operation since 1999. The power plant is located in the Chemelot industrial park in Geleen and is one of RWE Generation's industrial customer power plants. Equipped with a gas turbine and a steam turbine, the power plant generates a maximum electricity output of 230 MW. The unit also produces steam (140 bar at 525˚C and 18 bar at 300˚C) by heating demineralised water with combustion gases from the gas turbine, which is then is added to natural gas in the waste heat boilers. The power plant generates a maximum of 300 tonnes of steam per hour. Electricity and steam are transported to the customers by energy utility USG.
