RWE Procurement

eSourcing

eSourcing is the digitised, web-based purchasing process. RWE Procurement began introducing eSourcing solutions for tenders and negotiations in as early as 2005 and has been developing them since then. The use of easy-to-apply electronic tools in procurement can improve the efficiency and speed of tenders and negotiations, whilst also ensuring that they are in line with applicable rules (compliance). Requests for information (RfI), requests for proposals (RfP), requests for quotations (RfQ) and electronic auctions are all examples of eSourcing.

eSourcing

  • This is a request using our cloud-based digital platform. As a supplier, you will receive an invitation by email. Together with the first invitation, you will also receive a link to the platform, your username and a once-only password. The purchaser responsible for you will send the request using the cloud-based platform. As a supplier, use of the platform is free of charge for you.

  • When you have received an invitation by email, you can view the request on the platform, download the list of services and related technical and commercial documents, ask the purchaser questions about the request concerned, receive answers, complete any questionnaires, upload requested documents and, of course, issue your quotation. When providing your quotation, you can opt to enter the prices directly onto the platform, upload an Excel file or upload a GAEB file. The platform automatically calculates the total price for the different prices entered and quantities saved before you submit the quotation to us by confirming it using the “Send quotation” ("Offerte versturen") button. When you have logged onto the platform, you will see a list of all events to which you have been invited.

  • An e-auction is a process in which price negotiations are conducted online with several competitors in parallel. This makes negotiations easier, more transparent and faster both for you as our supplier and for RWE. Since 1 January 2019, we have integrated the electronic auctions and electronic requests/tenders into a single eSourcing platform, enabling you to access all eSourcing activities in one place. As a bidder, participating in an auction is free of charge.

  • No. RWE Procurement uses weighting factors for the different elements of the auction. Alongside price, these may, for example, include quality, creditworthiness, payment conditions, service and references. The eSourcing platform we use takes account of these factors internally for each specific request.

Advantage

  • As a potential RWE supplier, you have the following advantages:

    • Good-value, efficient access
    • Reduction in sales activities
    • In the case of reverse auctions, directly responding to competitors’ bids
    • High level of transparency
    • Defined time for posting and limited posting period
    • Worldwide use of the solution

Help and support

  • Under the menu heading “Contact & help” ("Contact & hulp") on the eSourcing platform we use, there is a brief introduction for suppliers, together with a supplier guide. Since this is regularly updated, we recommend that you always access this document from this central point.

  • The telephone numbers for support can be found in the email in which we invited you to take part in a request or auction and on the platform itself under "Contact & help". You will receive top-quality support which will continue until the issue has been satisfactorily resolved. Support is available in six languages during office hours (08.00 to 18.00) from Monday to Friday.
