Along the Volkerak, near the Volkerak locks and Willemstad on the Haringvliet, a total of seventeen wind turbines were placed between 1991 and 1994. These turbines had a modest capacity of 0.5 MW (megawatt). In 2005, these wind turbines were replaced by eleven new ones, each with a capacity of 0.85 MW. So, in total the wind farm has an installed capacity of 9.35 MW.
