Windpark Halsteren is located near Halsteren in the west of the municipality of Bergen op Zoom. Eight wind turbines with a modest joint capacity of 4.5 megawatts were erected on the Bandijk in the Auvergnepolder as early as 1989. At the end of their economic and technical life, they were replaced by eight wind turbines of 0.85 MW each, increasing the installed capacity of the total wind farm to 6.8 MW. The turbines were replaced gradually from 2004 onwards, the eighth and last one in 2007.
RWE is investigating the possibilities to replace the eight wind turbines by four larger ones.
